RAWLINGS BAT DATING GUIDE |

The Rawlings Co. has used different center brands in
their history. The Logo samples pictured below are
dated to the years they appear in the Rawlings
catalogs. By matching the samples with the logo on your
bat you could approximately date to that era.
Variations in branding and model numbers could narrow
down the years. |

much like the "Powerized " process used by
Louisville Slugger, the maker of Rawlings
baseball bats. "Duroized"
is a process to harden the surface of the bat,

redesigned. The "Rawlings" trademark script
logo surrounded by 8 starts, features the
Registered trademark ® below the "s" in
Rawlings. Above reads "MADE IN U.S.A." with the

| In 1971 Rawlings purchased Adirondack
Bats Inc. From 1971 to 1982, Rawlings listed
Adirondack baseball bats exclusively. No
Rawlings brand baseball bats were
produced during this period. In 1983,
Adirondack and Rawlings shared the brand. Three
different
Adirondack center brands were used from
1971-1982. |

Rawlings
is a sports equipment manufacturing company founded in
1887 by George and Alfred Rawlings. A Pioneer in the
baseball glove industry Rawlings introduced innovative
designs that included the Bill Doak Model (1919), Deep
Well Pocket (1930), Trapper (1940), and V-Anchored Web
(1950).
In 1927, Rawlings introduced their own brand of
baseball bats, which were manufactured by Louisville
Slugger. Early in 1971, A-T-O who owned Rawlings since
1969, acquired Adirondack Industries. |
